Description

Job Summary: Direct and support Test Engineers and Lab Technicians to perform testing of HVAC equipment to appropriate Agency Standards. Review and approve test set-up and data. Maintain an understanding and stay current on relevant standards for HVAC product certification. Provide guidance to other departments to ensure product meets relevant standards.

Essential Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Participate in inspections by safety listing agencies and other organizations required for code compliance.
  • Develop and review test plans to ensure appropriate standards requirements are met.
  • Ensure equipment and parts for testing and rework are available to maintain testing schedule.
  • Coordinate testing of HVAC equipment in various test setups and psychrometric chambers.
  • Analyze test data to determine that product meets performance and safety requirements.
  • Ensures that tests are performed according to AAON standard operating procedures.
  • Work with Product Engineering to provide feedback on product compliance to appropriate standards.
  • Make recommendations on product design in order to meet standards requirements.
  • Provide technical support to Lab Technicians to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Read and understand safety and performance standards, technical manuals, instructions, and criteria.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Degree(s): Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
License(s): EPA 608
Certification(s): None

  • Four-year ABET accredited degree in Engineering or equivalent technical degree in Applied Sciences.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years in the HVAC industry or equivalent experience in a similar industry.
  • Education or experience related to safety certification standards as they relate to HVAC OEM equipment is an added advantage for career development.

Essential Physical Functions:

  • Lift up to 50lbs.
  • Sit or stand for up to 95 percent of work hours.
  • Periodic visits to the manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
