Description

Job Summary

Participate in developing and supporting all Electrical Control Design of AAON products. Participate in designing new products, must understand all electrical components such as Relays, Transformers, Circuit breakers, Variable Speed Drives. etc., must know how to read electrical schematics, making recommendation changes if needed. Must be able to run the EOL test software programs (Prism II or EOL) and recommend making changes to the end of line test procedures. Confers with management, production, and marketing staff to plan and assess feasibility of projects-take responsibility of some engineering project. Must be able to use lab-view programming. Must be willing to cross-trained within the Electrical Control group to do other tasks.

Key Tasks

  • Participate in Developing and maintaining Electrical standard Control Per UL and ETL for all product lines
  • Learn to Program and control the psychometric chamber and all testing within chamber
  • Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to plan and assess feasibility of project
  • Learn how to implement of the new electrical components or control systems for HVAC equipment
  • Should be able to establish procedures for testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and controls equipment
  • Must be able to Test and approve all electrical components such as: motors, sensors etc...
  • Review and recommend for approval of new electrical/control products from vendors
  • Participate in reviewing product design and changes, and be involved in direct testing
  • Review specifications and create new specifications
  • Learn the Lab view programming for all projects and ETL testing of prototype units.
  • Work with applications, sales, and field representatives to meet customer requirements
  • Work with manufacturing to solve manufacturing problems
  • Work with vendors to modify existing components or find new components to solve problems

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

Minimum of Bachelors in Electrical Engineering. Education beyond the minimum is an added advantage for career development activities.
Minimum of 1-2 years in the HVAC industry experience or equivalent experience in a similar industry. The individual must have experience and knowledge of building control systems and protocol. Familiar with several of the following core technologies: Modbus Protocol, Bacnet MSTP, Bacnet IP and other communication protocols.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Work requires frequent exposure to manufacturing facilities with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
  • Ability to stand comfortably for prolonged periods of time, as much as 95% of the workday.
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
