ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The DVP of Operational Excellence will be responsible for creating and implementing sustainable processes and a comprehensive improvement program for the operating units within the AMETEK Aerospace & Defense Division. Operational Excellence programs will focus on safety, quality, working capital improvement, and gross margin enhancement. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant and highly visible impact on a successful and growing organization.
Reporting directly to the Vice President/General Manager of the Aerospace & Defense Division, the DVP will work closely with functional and business unit leaders to ensure that supply chain and production goals are met to achieve business plan results.
• Lead change to improve relationships, maximize productivity, and optimize cost effectiveness with internal and external stakeholders
• Facilitate and lead the organization through Lean Six Sigma events, incorporating value stream mapping, Kaizen events, and process mapping
• Measure key metrics against our internal quality standards, develop scorecards, and implement continuous improvement efforts focused on quality
• Support the business in adding value and reducing costs by providing excellence in procurement strategy development and implementation, supply based management, and supplier relationship management
• Implement Operational Excellence best-practice based processes with cross-functional teams
• Stay abreast of world-wide trade dynamics, including tariffs and treaties, and leverage knowledge to facilitate a procurement and costing strategy for competitive advantage
• Identify avenues for external exposure and benchmarking to keep business leaders up to date with the latest operational technology and methodology
REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION

Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field required; Master’s degree preferred

10+ years of experience leading a best in class Operational function in an industrial manufacturing environment

Domestic/international travel expectation of 65%
