Job Summary: Develop and execute sales business strategies to drive profitable revenue growth. Involves leading Regional Sales Managers and independent manufacturer’s Representatives. Oversight includes sales strategies, customer account strategy, sales processes, developing and managing customer relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of products to meet representative and customer needs in achieving the company’s financial targets.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Achieves or exceeds sales financial objectives monthly, quarterly, and annually in assigned territory and product categories.
- Develops and implements a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the overall company goals.
- Leads, mentors, develops, and supports Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) to a high level of performance in executing sales strategies and processes with Representatives, including close engagement with principals and leaders.
- Prepares an annual financial plan and quota for each RSM and their Representatives,
- Sets clear performance expectations and provides feedback, coaching, and accountability to ensure team success.
- Forecasts monthly sales with RSMs, ensuring consistent pipeline of opportunity is being built towards annual financial budget, identifying and initiating any corrective actions.
- In conjunction with RSMs, coaches Representative’s principals and leaders in ways to strengthen their businesses and results and drives accountability.
- Monitors and analyzes key performance indicators, including market and macro-economic trends, related to business opportunity and success.
- Identifies market trends, customer needs, and competitive forces to inform strategic decision-making.
- Serves as a leadership sponsor to certain key customer decision makers, cultivating and maintaining strong relationships.
- Ensures RSMs and Representatives are effectively communicating value propositions to reps and ensure they successfully do so with customers in proposals and presentations.
- Implements best practices to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Participates, on occasion, in trade shows and Representative’s customer events.
- Addresses customer concerns, resolves issues promptly, and ensures an excellent customer experience.
- Collaborates on the development of technical training programs.
- Collaborates with leaders of other departments, including engineering, applications engineering, marketing, customer service, manufacturing, and technical support, to ensure seamless coordination in delivering products.
- Works closely with the product development team to develop, configure, and enhance offerings based on customer feedback, competitive dynamics, and market needs.
Qualifications
.Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field and 10 years of experience in sales leadership in the HVAC industry with a track record of achieving sales targets or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Strong knowledge of the HVAC industry and understanding of aftermarket trends.
Work Environment:
- Ability to sit or stand for up to 95% of the work hours.
- Job requires periodic visits to the manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, loud noises and some chemical fume exposure.
- Requires travel approximately 50% of the time.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
