The Director of Sales for North America (NA) is responsible for leading the regional sales in driving revenue and maximizing sales volume by developing and executing strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base. Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships is a critical component. This role works closely with other internal departments and several external parties.

What you will do:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet business unit and division goals. Investigate and establish sales potential for specific markets and aid in development of a sales plan for the profitable penetration of the market including products, business potential, pricing, competition, logistics and channels.
  • Direct sales forecasting and budgeting activities and sets goals accordingly. Recommends or approves budget and expenditures.
  • Assists direct sales team with account strategies, territory planning and administrative responsibilities to grow the regional business within existing accounts and to insure a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained.
  • Acts as the quoting & pricing authority for OEM/distributors within company policies.
  • Manage and perform sales administration relative to assigned accounts; align product pricing to applicable market levels.
  • Works with regional sales team and applicable internal departments on the review of customer specifications, prints and other customer documents to develop and prepare cost estimates or projected increases in production from the customer’s use of proposed products.
  • Works closely with key decision makers, such as purchasing, engineering, management, or other professional and technical personnel to value sell and drive profitable sales growth.
  • Provides direction and assistance to sales team towards the successful introduction of new products and analyses of sales and marketing procedures. Works closely with Product Management and Marketing and makes recommendations for sales procedures including analyses of regional pricing vs. competition and discount policies and recommendations to increase profitability and market penetration.
  • Administer existing contracts and agreements and establish others as required. Perform contractual and commercial negotiations.
  • Act as a liaison with other departments to ensure that customer orders are shipped on a timely basis, correctly, and via the most economical routing consistent with the needs of the customer.
  • Ensure adequate flow of information from the business to the customer.
  • Represent the business at trade shows and meetings.
  • Deliver sales presentations to key clients, assist with maintaining relationships, negotiations, and closing deals.
  • Prepares and presents sales reports and data as required.
  • Monitor and evaluate activities of competitors.

We are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) from four-year University; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ direct leadership experience required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required.
  • Excellent working knowledge of sales and marketing principles required.
  • Demonstrated track record of sales quota over-achievement.
  • Experience prospecting, driving, orchestrating, and closing complex sales cycles required.
  • Track record of understanding product and ideas quickly.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
