General Responsibilities

The Director of Marketing is responsible for providing strategic, data-driven marketing direction, driving the market presence for the local network office (NO), as well as overseeing the Marketing Engagement Program for the State of New York. This individual will be a thought leader that actively seeks opportunities to expose the Northwestern Mutual brand throughout our offices.


This position serves as a liaison to the Northwestern Mutual corporate office, the Network Office, and helps support our financial advisors statewide. This leader will prioritize the largest Wealth Management practices within our firm.

Network Office

  • Participate in strategic planning with the Managing Partner and corporate office to develop and implement a statewide marketing plan
  • Identify, plan, and help execute marketing initiatives and event planning in alignment with budgets to support our top teams
  • Track and measure all program ROI
  • Oversee training for marketing education and adoption with provided core tools (social media, website, email, and overall Northwestern Mutual marketing platforms)
  • Assist in developing a marketing strategy around recruiting and talent attraction
  • Support local childhood cancer and community efforts
  • Collaborate with our public relations team on media opportunities and serve as the key contact for sponsorship and business partnerships


Financial Advisors

  • Develop and implement customized marketing plans to grow revenue for select advisors.
  • Provide guidance and oversight on advisor marketing budgets.
  • Identify, plan, and help execute client and prospect marketing events. Provide guidance and assist in tracking details in CRM and providing ROI results on the success of the events.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled marketing meetings to help drive engagement within the program.
  • Serve as the expert for all Northwestern Mutual marketing tools.
  • Provide knowledge and guidance on best practice when utilizing CRM for marketing.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field: Business, Marketing, Advertising, or Communications.
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing and event management.
  • Proven experience in managing budgets and driving ROI.
  • Highly detailed and organized with ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Strong relationship builder.
  • Proficient in Client Relationship Manager (CRM) software and overall technology adoption.
  • Ability to work occasional night and weekend projects as determined by event schedule


Salary Range: $70,000-$90,000 plus bonus
