Role Summary:
You will work across Saks Global, a combination of world-class luxury retailers, including Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue and Saks OFF 5TH. You are a results-driven Director of Energy Management who will lead Saks Global’s enterprise-wide energy strategy across our retail portfolio. You will oversee energy efficiency and cost optimization initiatives in addition to utility forecasting and risk management — ensuring we procure and maintain reliable and sustainable energy solutions to support our business objectives. The role requires strong analytical expertise, a deep knowledge of the US-based energy markets,
and a strategic mindset to drive long-term value creation. You possess the ability to lead and influence across multiple organizations and a passion for working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Business, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field
10+ years of progressive experience in energy management, utilities, sustainability, or related field with at least 5 years as a
people leader
Proven experience developing and executing enterprise-wide energy strategies
Deep understanding of energy markets, utility tariffs, and regulatory frameworks
Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Experience managing external vendors, contracts, and broker relationships
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications (nice to haves):
Master’s degree in related field
Retail or real estate industry experience
Background in finance
Knowledge of energy storage, microgrids, and distributed energy resources, HVAC systems, and building automation
systems
Experience working on and/or leading corporate sustainability teams
Role Description:
Develop and lead Saks Global’s strategic energy management vision, aligning cost, operational targets, and sustainability initiatives across the enterprise
Oversee the energy procurement strategy for electricity, natural gas, and other utilities - balancing price, reliability and risk exposure
Drive large-scale energy efficiency projects, in partnership with Facilities and Store Operations, setting clear performance targets and ROI expectations
Direct utility forecasting and budgeting processes, in partnership with finance leadership, ensuring accurate, data-driven and market-informed projections
Establish and lead a comprehensive energy risk strategy to mitigate market volatility and regulatory impact.
Identify and assess renewable energy opportunities and technologies that support decarbonization, regulatory requirements and sustainability goals.
Oversee vendor relationships and contracts to maximize value, innovation and service delivery
Partner closely with Facilities, Store Ops, Real Estate, Legal and Finance to integrate energy strategy into business functions and processes
Provide executive-level reporting on key energy program metrics, risks, and strategic opportunities to senior leadership
Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing and fast-paced energy management team committed to excellence and continuous improvement
