Job Summary:
The Director of Communications will oversee internal and broader external communications for the organization. This role will be pivotal in shaping the company’s messaging, managing public relations, and ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms. The director will work closely with the marketing department who is responsible for our brand standards and communications with our sales channel and customers. The director will work closely with senior leadership to develop communication strategies that promote our corporate vision, enhance our brand reputation, and effectively engage with stakeholders. Responsibilities include crafting and disseminating press releases, managing media relations, coordinating internal communications, and leading a team of communication professionals. The director will make strategic decisions that will have a significant impact on our company's visibility and stakeholder engagement. Strategic decisions have medium to long-term impact on operations.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all internal communications, including company newsletters, employee announcements, and intranet content.
- Manage external communications such as press releases, media statements, and social media posts that are not sales-specific.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key media contacts and journalists to ensure positive coverage of the company.
- Ensure consistent messaging across all platforms, including web, print, and digital media.
- Work closely with senior leadership to develop comprehensive communication strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
- Promote the corporate vision and enhance the company's brand reputation through targeted communication efforts.
- Engage with stakeholders, including investors, customers, and employees, to ensure clear and effective communication.
- Craft and disseminate press releases that accurately reflect the company's position and messaging.
- Manage media relations, including responding to media inquiries and coordinating interviews with company representatives.
- Coordinate internal communications to ensure employees are informed and engaged with company initiatives and updates.
- Lead a team of communication professionals, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Make strategic decisions that enhance the company's visibility and engagement with stakeholders.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and market dynamics to identify and adapt communication strategies accordingly.
- Identify new business opportunities through proactive communication strategies.
- Adapt communication strategies based on market and industry trends.

Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or related field and 10 years of experience with a demonstrated track record of success in a communications role.
Work Environment:
- Sitting for prolonged periods
- Requires some visits to manufacturing facilities with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
- Some travel required including overnight stays.
