Job Summary
Responsible for executing strategic development activities focused primarily on individual donors and gifts of $5K or less. Create and cultivate relationships with donor prospects, building an annual giving program for individuals across the 30 counties served by Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma. Key activities include donor/prospect data enrichment to launch a robust annual giving program, developing the donor pipeline to acquire and retain new donors, coordinating fundraising events, executing Giving Tuesday campaign, coordinating alumnae engagement activities, and launching a Giving Day. This job requires periodic travel across 30 counties in eastern Oklahoma on a regular basis. This is a safety sensitive position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews existing donor and prospect data and works with the Database and Development Coordinator to identify data projects related to meeting associated needs of annual giving program.
- Cultivates relationships with current and prospective donors across the Council's territory.
- Coordinates fundraising events annually in outlying areas to grow the number of individual donors to GSEOK, including coordination of volunteer committees to meet revenue goals. Solicits sponsorships from individuals and businesses in local communities to ensure event success.
- Develops and manages an annual solicitation schedule for annual giving via print pieces, electronic media, and social media campaigns to acquire and retain donors, prospects, and lapsed donors, including Giving Tuesday campaign and an additional Giving Day to be held during another part of the calendar year.
- Documents engagements with donors and prospects within the Council’s CRM to ensure accurate records of interactions are kept, as well as flagging prospects that may be strong planned giving prospects for additional outreach by CDO.
- Creates and implements an alumnae engagement plan with corresponding outreach, events, and follow up to grow the number of alumnae supporting the Council and improve data on this affinity group.
- Provides research, feedback, and recommendations to CDO on additional strategies to engage individual donors in all areas of Council’s territory.
- Executes other Fund Development duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or other related field or equivalent directly related experience.
- 3 years of prior work experience in fundraising, event planning, marketing, business development, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license within the state of employment.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and other computer skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to exercise discretion and good judgement in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and maintain a routine for accomplishing tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Prior experience in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge preferred.
Physical and Schedule Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 25 pounds.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
