Description

Global is seeking a highly motivated self-starter to join our Data Engineering team. This role involves the design, development, and ongoing enhancement of our enterprise data platform, with a focus on crafting robust data pipelines and maintaining an efficient data warehouse.

Responsibilities

  • Quickly gain a comprehensive understanding of Global’s data landscape and architectural framework.
  • Architect and deploy cutting-edge data infrastructure to strengthen analytical and reporting capabilities.
  • Develop ELT/ETL processes for seamless data extraction and manipulation from diverse data sources.
  • Oversee and enhance the data warehouse and pipelines, ensuring peak performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Implement data security measures and access controls across data platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to capture data requirements and implement tailored solutions that align with the existing architecture patterns.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
  • Manage and optimize data storage solutions in Snowflake.
  • Write efficient, scalable, and reusable code in Python to handle data processing and transformation tasks.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of data architecture principles and modern ETL methodologies.
  • Experience working with cloud Data Warehouse technologies (e.g. Snowflake, Azure, etc.).
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational database systems.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, etc.).
  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience with data-related Python libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
  • Attention to detail with the capacity to operate autonomously and collaboratively across various teams.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with designing and implementing data pipelines leveraging Azure Data Factory.
  • Understanding of Snowflake’s data warehousing architecture and its capabilities.
  • Experience in developing data warehouses optimized for advanced analytics and reporting.
  • Familiarity with data modeling and data integration tools.
  • Experience with other programming languages (e.g., Java, Scala) is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of experience developing and maintaining data warehousing systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
