Essential Job Functions:
Assist with creation and documentation of business processes for Cybersecurity Testing and Assessments team (including penetration testing, red team, purple team and application security functions)
Support implementation strong project management principles within the CSTA team to enable more efficient operations
Analyze and evaluate cyber and physical security emerging policies at both the state and federal levels to anticipate impacts to American Electric Power
Conduct thorough and effective research into proposed regulation and legislation impacting cybersecurity operations
Draft and coordinate AEP feedback to developing legislation and regulation working across all impacted business units
Support in-person policy engagements, as appropriate, to represent AEP’s position and recommendations
Assist with creation and presentation of monthly portfolio reviews to technology leadership
Creation and presentation of project proposals to technology and business stakeholders
Responsible for strengthening technology and security business unit relationships through thought leadership and strategic planning
Set actionable goals for the team and analyze, measure and report metrics to leadership
Minimum Requirements:
Tech Business Analyst Senior (SG7):
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business or related field of study; Or Associate's degree in computer science or related field of study with 2 years of relevant work experience; Or High school diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant work experience.
Experience: In addition to any experience required above, 5 years of relevant work experience is required.
Tech Business Analyst Principal (SG8):
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business or related field of study; Or Associate's degree in computer science or related field of study with 2 years of relevant work experience; Or High school diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant work experience.
Experience: In addition to any experience required above, 7 years of relevant work experience is required.
Preferred Requirements:
Hands on experience with detail requirements gathering and project management skills.
General understanding and awareness of emerging cyber and physical security technologies.
Background in policy analysis and/or technical writing will be a plus.
Experience in cybersecurity policy or regulation is helpful
Live within 2 hours of Washington D.C.

Compensation Grade:
SP20-007Compensation Range:
$83,413.00-104,267.50 USDCandidates will be considered based on their qualifications and the candidate’s ability to work from an approved work location. Although the location is flexible, AEP does not have a presence in all states and localities. The following locations are NOT currently approved for this position: AK, CA, CO, CT, DE, HI, IA, ID, KS, MA, ME, MS, MT, ND, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OR, RI, SD, UT, VT, WY, US Territories or international work locations. AEP will consider qualified candidates who are willing to relocate to an approved work location, at the candidate’s expense, provided the relocation can be completed within a timeframe that meets AEP’s staffing needs.
