Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

As a regulated business, our second line of defense team plays a critical role in ensuring Stripe is effectively trained and aware of our top risks and regulatory obligations. In this role, you will help to ensure that Stripe continues to promote a culture of risk and compliance. You will play a key role in the development and evolution of Stripe’s risk and regulatory compliance programs.

What you’ll do

As a Program Manager in the Compliance Program Oversight Office, you will serve as the primary second line of defense resource for information and activities for Global Regulatory Compliance and ERM. You will be responsible for building the strategic resource hub and process methodology that enables effective engagement between Stripe and our global financial partners and regulators. You will take the lead in coordinating partners' strategic information needs from Stripe, including formal audits, requests for information, and other ad hoc risk inquiries that fall outside the scope of standard partner reporting. Given Stripe’s global presence, your role will involve designing and implementing scalable information solutions and communication strategies to address market and partner-specific needs.

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic risk and compliance programs and support initiatives that span the enterprise or cross functional teams, including but not limited to maturation of risk programs across 1st and 2nd Line of Defense
  • Provide end-to-end ownership of high impact partner audits, including both content and DRI preparation
  • Advise, influence, and challenge the accountable LOB in preparation for, and engagement in, audits and exams; assist in addressing deficiencies and help prepare responses
  • Create and maintain resources and processes, often drawing from disparate teams, to ensure efficient, timely, effective and cohesive response from the company
  • Maintain tight coordination with cross-functional stakeholders who participate in audit delivery, ensuring alignment with our overall approach
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records of exams in progress, recurring meetings, and reporting provided to regulators
  • Manage and modify long- and short-term project management plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
  • Lead and liaise with cross-functional teams such as Marketing, Risk Management, Operations, and Legal to ensure alignment with compliance requirements; delegating and overseeing assigned tasks on the underlying project(s)

Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in business process analysis, strategy and operations, consulting, and/or program management
  • The ability to represent Stripe at the risk practitioner level with a wide range of financial partners and other outside stakeholder groups
  • Ability to set and deliver against ambitious roadmaps in one or more core risk disciplines
  • Successful track record of working collaboratively and cross-functionally to solve complex risk problems
  • Strong stakeholder management, including navigating difficult situations, negotiating timelines, and influencing internal and external stakeholders across organizations and borders
  • Ability to distill complex, ambiguous risk and policy problems into clear, concise, and reliable guidance for internal stakeholders and Stripe users

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL) and proficiency in quantitative analysis geared towards drawing actionable insights from complex datasets
  • Experience digging in to understand network and financial partner rules and regulations
  • Experience overseeing execution and delivery of highly-strategic programs; proven ability to take complex issues and turn them into actionable next steps, hold others accountable, and meet deadlines
A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live.

The annual US base salary range for this role is $117,100 - $175,600. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
