JOB SUMMARY

ONEOK is seeking a Commercial Business Analyst to join the Financial Analytics team in ONEOK’s Natural Gas Gathering & Processing segment. This position will provide an individual with exposure to all facets of the G&P business with responsibilities including: developing long-term natural gas volume forecasts, evaluating economic feasibility of potential capital projects, researching producer activity trends for the basins in which we operate, and various other recurring responsibilities to support Gas Supply commercial business. An emphasis on collaboration, creativity and problem-solving skills is desired.

This position will be at the individual contributor level (Commercial Business Analyst I-IV) commensurate with candidate experience in the fields of Finance, Engineering, Economics, Information Services, Accounting, or similar. This role is hybrid:
Office - Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
Remote - Wednesday and Friday

Job Profile Summary

Performs an intermediate level of work related to nomination, confirmation and scheduling activities for natural gas or natural gas liquids transportation. Assists in the preparation, analysis, interpretation and communication of information from complex contracts. Assists with preparation and maintenance of financial models pertaining to natural gas or natural gas liquids commercial activities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Initiate, schedule and monitor daily nominations to maintain pipeline integrity by minimizing Operational Balance Agreement (OBA) and shipper or customer imbalances
  • Interact with gas control representatives, customers, operators, producers, pipeline companies and others concerning nominations, allocations, billing, imbalances, daily flow and operational orders
  • Assist in the interpretation of legal documents to ensure compliance with contract terms and state and federal regulations. Ensure compliance with all company standards, tariffs, policies and procedures. Assist in the negotiation contract terms and provisions as required
  • Assist with economic analyses of various business opportunities to assess profitability, returns and economic. Apply standardized financial metrics to evaluate profitability measurements, including return on invested capital, cost of capital and earnings impact
  • Prepare financial models and summarize results that simulate gathering, processing, transportation and storage activities for the purpose of forecasting trends related to and including:
    • Pipeline extensions
    • Well connects
    • Gas processing/plant consolidations
    • Acquisitions
    • Storage injection/withdrawals
    • Transmission system operations
  • Compile, calculate, prepare and analyze information or reports including but not limited to:
    • License and underground gas storage agreements
    • Contracts
    • Legal Documents
    • Allocations
    • Nominations and confirmations
    • Measurement discrepancies
    • Actual Usage – Electronic Flow Measurement (EFM)
    • Financial forecasts
    • Price and decline curves
    • System optimization
  • Provide information and assistance to management, attorneys, auditors, landowners, governmental agencies, traders, gas control reps and/or others

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business administration, accounting or an equivalent combination of formal education and the following job related knowledge or experience

Work Experience

  • Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software
  • Experience interacting, advising, negotiating, and communicating effectively

  • Ability to: read and interpret applicable contracts, agreements, reports, statements, invoices, confirmations, correspondence, tariffs, government regulations, industry standards, financial data, electronic bulletin board communications and company policies and procedures
  • Ability to: communicate and/or exchange information or instruction
