Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma

**Position Overview:**

_The Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma is searching for a Chief Executive Officer to champion the organization’s mission to build girls’ courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place._

_The CEO will lead all community engagement, operational, fundraising, staff management and programmatic facets of organization. This individual will be responsible for advancing and promoting the reputation and position of the organization as well as growing the donor base and development._

**Overview of Responsibilities:**

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is accountable for providing leadership, strategic direction and vision for the development and achievement of the organization’s mission in partnership with the Council’s Board of Directors (Board). The CEO is a highly visible ambassador and champion of Girl Scouting in the communities served by the Council, inspiring volunteers, donors, and community partners. The CEO works in partnership with the Board to assure the Council’s relevance and integration within the communities it serves by providing relevant, high-quality programs and support systems.

Reporting to the CEO are the Chief Mission Delivery Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Development Officer, Chief Property Officer, Chief Human Resources Officer and Executive Assistant.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

- Provide strategic, influential leadership by working with the Council Board and members of the senior leadership team to establish and implement long- and short-term strategies, goals and operating objectives supporting the overarching strategy and Girl Scout Mission.
- Provide leadership direction, accountability, and oversight to the leadership team in the areas of:
- fundraising/development and donor relations
- operations/program delivery
- financial management and asset/property management
- membership and volunteer engagement
- community relations and communication
- Ensure the financial health of the Council, actively participate in budgeting/reforecasting, audits, capital expenditures, and ensure sound fiscal controls. Provide strategic financial input and leadership on key decisions affecting the organization, including maximizing product sales, increasing operating reserves, and growing endowments and planned giving.
- Lead, and actively participate in, the development and execution of fund development strategies, events and presentations to enable the Council to meet and exceed growth and fundraising objectives.
- Ensure the development and delivery of innovative, relevant and high-quality programs and services to ensure sustainability of girl scouting and volunteer experiences across the Council's jurisdiction.
- Oversee the strategic, financial and operational management of the Council’s physical properties including owned and leased facilities and established camp properties.
- Provide leadership, support, and direction to ensure that the mission and core values of Girl Scouting are put into practice within the Council’s jurisdiction.
- Promote Girl Scout visibility and strengthen the Girl Scout image and impact in the community. Serve as Council’s primary spokesperson, including participating in media events, media relations, social media strategies, and crisis communication efforts.
- Actively participate in the recruitment of new Board members; leverage the involvement and contribution of all Board members; work closely with Board Chair to ensure good governance and report timely on critical issues.
- Work in partnership with the national organization to promote the Girl Scouts national policy agenda and implement a unified advocacy strategy. Participate, as needed/required, in national meetings, committees, activities and events. Ensure Charter requirements are met and obtain information and resources related to operational and governance issues.
- Empower, inspire, and lead a high-performance senior leadership team - attract, recruit, develop and retain members of the senior leadership team.
- Foster an environment of diversity, equity and inclusion for the Board, staff, girls, volunteers, families and communities. Ensure and promote non-discriminatory practices in every aspect of Girl Scouting.
- Provide oversight and guidance on legal, human resources and information technology functions.
- Ensure that Council affairs are conducted in a manner consistent with corporate and charter requirements, as well as federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties/responsibilities as required by the Board of Directors and Girls Scouts of the USA.

**Education and Experience:**

- At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience, with a minimum of 5 years at an executive leadership level.
- Executive/managerial experience in youth-serving organizations is a plus but not required.
- Corporate executive experience a plus but not required.
- Well-connected within the greater Tulsa business community a plus but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and training. Advanced degree a plus but not required.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with an ability to build and maintain relationships with youth, community leaders, donors, Board members, volunteers, Council management/staff and the national organization.
- Ability to interact, present and influence the donor community to strengthen and support development efforts.
- Demonstrated, highly-effective leadership skills – create vision, define strategy, drive growth, manage risk, ability to influence, managerial courage, demonstrate passion for the mission.
- Innovator with proven ability to be open, creative and lead through change.
- Sound judgement, problem-solving and decision-making skills; critical thinker who can grasp and discern information across a broad array of topics.
- High ethics and integrity; model behavior consistent with the Girl Scout Mission, Promise and Law.
- Effective communication skills; effectively use various communication channels, including social media.
- Ability to work nights and weekends for scheduled meetings and events.
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Proof of meeting Oklahoma State requirements regarding auto licensing; valid driver’s license.
