Description

Oklahoma Technical College is seeking a professional, friendly, and compassionate full-time Career Services Representative focused on working with students to find employment in their field! This position will assist with the Career Services job placement program to meet students' and community needs by matching student abilities and experience with the employer’s requirements. Will assist students with resume building and the interview process. The Career Services Representative will assist students in finding permanent employment in their field, paying attention to the specific needs of each employer, and ensuring the student is prepared for the workplace.

An associate degree from an accredited institution is preferred. Previous experience related to job placement services, client relations, or staffing and recruiting is desired. Must have a professional attitude, professional appearance, strong communication skills, and be computer literate with proficiency in Google workspace and Microsoft Office.

A Career Services Representative must possess the following:

  • Excellent customer service, time management, resourcefulness, and organizational skills
  • Strong presentation, public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze data and think strategically

  • Ability to work with a diverse student population
  • Ability to model the CARES philosophy and core values with courage, teamwork, perseverance, and vision

Schedule Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with effective job placement program for students and graduates as measured by employee/ student satisfaction surveys
  • Be knowledgeable of campus programs and course offerings
  • Use social networks to listen to and address student concerns warmly and creatively
  • Build and maintain relationships with business and community leaders by a variety of means including account visitations
  • Assist students to determine their qualifications and work history to determine appropriate placement
  • Match student knowledge and abilities with job requirements and refer qualified students to employers for interviews
  • Provide a variety of general and technical information to students, staff, and the community regarding job placement services
  • Collect, organize and analyze local and national employment information and trends
  • Assemble, interpret and organize statistical information from employers and students
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for management, ensuring accreditation compliance
  • Work in collaboration with Career Services Director to plan, coordinate, and organize job fairs and workshops, in-services
  • Incorporate technology in all areas of job placement services
  • Develop strategies and carry out routine office duties to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in the Career Services Department
  • Create an environment of Excellence in Customer Service toward students and employment sites
  • Participate in a minimum of two professional developments per year
  • Attend Career/Job Fair events
  • Attend graduation ceremonies
  • Other duties as assigned
