Community Care College seeks an inspiring individual to teach a foundational course in Career & Life Development! The Career Life Development (CLD) Instructor is responsible for developing successful instructional strategies and teaching the Life Skills Program to non-traditional adult learners of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds. CLD teaches the foundational skills required for success as a student and professional. The on-campus course is a recurring three-week cycle, with new students entering the course cycle weekly, which is required for all students before entering their core program.
The three primary areas of coursework focus are High-Performance Skills, including time management, learning styles, and study skills; Mobile Technologies that are applied to personal branding and the workplace; and Financial Literacy, focusing on managing debt, personal budgeting, and saving for the future. In addition, professionalism and career-building skills are discussed.
Hold a minimum of an Associate's Degree from an accredited institution with coursework comparable to the subject material covered: Performance Skills, Financial Literacy, and Mobile Technology. A minimum of three years of work experience directly related to the subject being taught is required. Previous teaching/instructional experience preferred.
The ideal candidate will have the knowledge and ability to:
- Develop successful instructional strategies for non-traditional adult learners of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Identify barriers to student success and provide all students a pathway to achieve their goals
- Demonstrate emotional intelligence through strong interpersonal communication that leads to an increase in everyday performance; this includes empathetic listening, the ability to identify and understand the viewpoints of others, provide constructive feedback, and think before reacting
- Adapt to a fast-paced environment with a constant weekly flow of new students
- Conflict resolution, behavior management strategies, and problem-solving that works for everyone
- In-person/distance education experience, classroom management skills
- Public speaking ability and professional demeanor
- Curriculum development experience preferred

General Duties & Responsibilities:
- Will teach each three-week session on Career and Life Development, High-Performance Skills, Mobile Technology, and Financial Literacy
- Develop and monitor Curriculum, syllabi, and Lesson Plans, teaming with CLD Department Head
- Collaborate with other faculty to integrate information literacy competencies throughout the teaching and learning process
- Present enthusiastic, well-prepared, organized lectures and interactive classroom activities consistent with the course syllabus
- Be familiar with college accrediting bodies and compliance as it pertains to the CLD program
- Model ethical and responsible use of information and information technology
- Provide counseling and academic guidance to students in a professional manner, offering constructive, encouraging, and timely feedback
- Model the CARES philosophy (Courtesy, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Success)
- Interact in a positive manner with staff, students, faculty, and the public
- Promote good public relations through personal appearance, attitude, and conversation
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Associate's Degree from an accredited institution with coursework comparable to the subject material covered: Performance Skills, Financial Literacy, and Mobile Technology required
- A minimum of three years of work experience related to the subject being taught is required
- Verifiable experience in High-Performance Skills, Financial Literacy, and Mobile Technology
- Previous teaching/instructional and public speaking experience preferred
- Have good technical skills; must be computer literate and extremely familiar with online technologies
- Proficient with Microsoft and Google Workspace Applications
- Experience with Canvas LMS a plus
- Strong Interpersonal skills; ability to build and foster relationships
