JOB SUMMARY:

The Career Center Specialist is responsible for providing administrative support to the Manager and Career Navigator onsite at Career Center and works directly with clients under the supervision of the Manager. Greets job seekers and assists with all clerical functions required by the Career Center. Bilingual skills preferred. FULL-TIME POSITION ELIGIBLE FOR BENEFITS.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Greets job seekers providing customer service to individuals seeking career navigation services including but not limited to telecommunications, walk-ins, scheduling/confirming appointments, facilitating intakes/program enrollment, and data entry.
  2. Under the supervision of the Career Center Manager, provide limited consultation to participants regarding career development, including gleaning current, updatable and transferable job skills, resume development, and/or assessment of training needs, resources, and other available options.
  3. Provide hands-on assistance to individuals using the Career Center. This assistance may include but is not limited to standard job application completion, online job search instruction, and online job application.
  4. Assists participants in creating or accessing Indeed + Goodwill online platforms building professional profiles designed to enhance employability.
  5. Documents participant activities in a comprehensive, timely, and accurate manner utilizing the Caseworthy MIS (management information system) or other electronic databases including enrollment data, resume, case notes, placement data, and other information.
  6. Contact job seekers to determine if they are successfully employed and if they need continued services from Goodwill.
  7. Maintains and reports, job placements, and other performance statistics monthly.
  8. Provides community assistance information to callers and visitors by referring to resource materials and having a working knowledge regarding community resources. Provides tours and explanations of services as needed.
  9. Other duties as assigned.
  10. Demonstrates expertise with Microsoft Office Suite and client database assuring case information is accurately recorded.
  11. Follows, enforces, and provides training to ensure that all safety rules and regulations are followed.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Functions as a referral source for those needing the services of other agencies.
  2. Markets other Goodwill services to outside organizations and individuals.
  3. Other duties as required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High school graduate or GED. Associate’s degree or specialized training in vocational or rehabilitation services preferred.
  2. Experience in job development or job placement is a plus.
  3. Bilingual abilities are a plus (but not required).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Talking, hearing, reaching, handling, fingering, seeing, depth perception
  2. Lifting/Carrying/Pushing/Pulling: Light Work – exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects, or walking or standing to a significant degree.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be at least 21 years old.
  2. Must have a valid Oklahoma driver’s license, with a good driving record.
  3. Must maintain appropriate requirements for legal vehicle operation, including current automobile insurance inspection, and license plate.
  4. Must be eligible for a positive outcome on required criminal conviction background check.
  5. Must maintain compliance with Goodwill’s Drug and Alcohol Abuse Policy.
