The Buyer II plays a critical role in ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services to support Enovation Controls' manufacturing and operational goals. This position manages supplier relationships, supports cost savings initiatives, and ensures optimal inventory levels to meet production demands and revenue targets. The Buyer II collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to deliver procurement excellence and continuous improvement within the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and process MRP "Buy" messages to ensure timely material procurement.
- Work with Suppliers & Supply Chain to optimize pricing.
- Support Supply Chain & Engineering on New Product Introduction.
- Maintain and strengthen supplier relationships through regular communication and timely feedback.
- Analyze material requirements planning (MRP) data and adjust purchase orders accordingly.
- Coordinate international freight shipments and ensure compliance with import/export regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure right-sizing and support monthly revenue goals.
- Identify and implement process improvements and best practices in procurement operations.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to align procurement activities with business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
- 5 years of purchasing experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum 3 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables), Outlook, and Word.
- Experience using ERP systems such as Oracle (E1/JDE) or SAP is highly encouraged.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of Lean principles, Six Sigma, or APICS certifications (CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
- Experience in coordinating international shipments and understanding of customs requirements, preferred.
