Business Development Representative (BDR)

Intro:

Expert TA is a young Educational Technology company based in downtown Tulsa, Ok. Our clients are major colleges, universities, and high schools. These include Ivy League schools, as well as dozens of institutions in the U.S. News and World Reports list of top Colleges and Universities. On a local level, Expert TA is utilized by every major university in the state of Oklahoma.

How you will make an impact:

Expert TA is seeking a full-time, permanent employee to add to our team. This individual would work with science authors in fields such as physics, biology, and astronomy to edit, create, and overall bring images and illustrations to life for their associated subjects.

Responsibilities for this position include collaboration with team-members and outside authors. Editing of existing images and production of new images for educational use in a digital environment.

This person is also comfortable learning skills in other areas as dictated by business needs. Expert TA’s culture encourages cross-pollination of ideas, and as such there will be opportunities to work with other departments within the company on a variety of interesting projects.

Skills and Qualifications:

Required

Advanced/Expert in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for editing, and creation of images, Technically proficient with ability to learn new software, Organization and time management, Web research, Ability to meet deadlines, Capable of independent work with limited direct supervision, Professionalism, Problem Solving, Ability to work on a team (“People Person”), Mindfulness for consistency and attention to details, Good communication skills.

Desired Skills

Typography, Interactive Media, WordPress, CSS, Audio/Video, Project Management, and a few STEM classes taken at college-level. Strong desire to succeed and be a part of a growing, successful team.

About us:

Expert TA is a commercial online homework and tutorial system for introductory level physics courses. It was designed to grade problems the way instructors do; considering more than just a student’s final answer. Solving physics problems involves numerous steps such as applying equations, drawing free body diagrams, etc; to solve for numeric answers. Expert TA’s problems are all multi-step and involve these aspects of problem solving. With a sophisticated math engine, Expert TA is able to grade student equations in detail, in a manner similar to how you or your TA would. It identifies detailed mistakes within equations, deducts points, and provides specific feedback. In Homework Mode, students are provided with a detailed grade report after the assignment due date. In Tutorial mode, students can access hints and feedback is provided instantaneously. Expert TA has partnered with talented professors, leaders in physics education, to develop a rich library of original problems. Users of Expert TA have discovered the power of detailed/sophisticated grading over simple right vs. wrong grading. Instructors are provided with a much more accurate assessment of students’ work and students are provided with the feedback required to help them master concepts.
