Position Summary

Benefits Specialist (Health and Welfare)

Work you’ll do

This role is responsible for performing, assisting, and/or managing day-to-day workflows, processes, and special projects related to Deloitte’s health and welfare programs.

  • Provide support to the Rewards, Recognition and Well-being (RRWB) team in the administration and operations of the Health and Welfare programs.
  • Support the Office of General Counsel for benefit verification and plan document requests.
  • Assist and/or manage portions of the implementation of new plans, programs, and changes to plans.
  • Support compliance activities related to Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), including the preparation of reports and filings required by federal and state agencies such as the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, insurance commissioners and other regulatory agencies.
  • Assist with case escalations including coordination with vendors and communicating to the employee.
  • Perform data audits and validation tasks to ensure system accuracy.
  • Assist in Health Savings Account administration including funding process, error reports, issue resolution, and audits.
  • Provide support to Contact Center and other internal teams related to the administration of health and welfare programs.
  • Complete industry surveys and provide analysis of results to make general recommendations.
  • Provide support related to acquisition reviews and onboarding process.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in Benefits Administration
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Preferred:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Ability to interact with others in a professional environment
  • Ability to work in a virtual team environment with a client service focus
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Ability to manage competing priorities against multiple deadlines

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $49,400 to $91,000.
