Overview

This is a hybrid role (if located in Charlotte or Raleigh, NC) with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office. Two days a week in office. Open to remote in several markets for highly qualfiied candidate.

This position is responsible for providing technical review to assess models and quantitative methodologies utilized to support business decisions for financial forecasting functions including capital planning and management, liquidity risk management, market risk and/or other forecasting functions to evaluate compliance with the relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies, standards and procedures.

In addition, this position is responsible for gathering, organizing, and analyzing data using complex statistical techniques and tools, to ensure data quality, integrity and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Bank policies that assist management with making informed business decisions.

Serves as a subject matter expert and may mentor other staff members.


Responsibilities

  • Model Technical Review – Assess the conceptual soundness of models and quantitative methodologies used to support key business decisions and evaluate model implementation and production to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Data Analysis – Gathers, organizes, and sorts data to develops complex data models for the department, business unit staff, and other stakeholders. Accesses structured and unstructured systems across the organization, utilizing coding efforts where needed to meet testing requirements. Provides effective and timely communications on findings. Evaluates department strategies to develop and implement sound data analysis processes and results for staff, management, and other stakeholders.
  • Reporting – Analyzes and produces timely reports for senior management and other stakeholders regarding risks, trends, patterns, and exceptions. Develops business intelligence/data visualization solutions that appropriately represent findings as needed. Assists senior management with compiling, preparing, and completing of committee presentations, annual audit plan, and risk assessments.
  • Business Support – Identifies, prioritizes, develops, documents, and implements strategic-use cases to support data analysis outcomes, processes, and other requirements. Responsible for all components of project execution and stakeholder engagement.
  • Operational Support – Provides support to the department and senior staff regarding technical inquiries serving as a subject matter expert.

Qualifications

Master's Degree and 2 years experience in Public accounting or Bank internal auditing, Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Public accounting or Bank internal auditing OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Public accounting or Bank internal auditing

Preferred area of study - Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Management

  • Knowledge for key business areas and regulatory requirements
  • Spreadsheet and database knowledge
  • Able to analyze and visualize large sets of data
  • Technical proficiency in Tableau and TeamMate
  • Knowledge of programming languages including but not limited to SAS, SQL, Oracle, R, MATLAB, Python
  • Proficiency in statistics and statistical packages/applications used to analyze data sets

The base pay for this position is generally between $100,000 and $170,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
