Mid-Continent Group, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, specializes in commercial casualty coverages with an emphasis on general liability for the construction, energy and difficult-to-place business in other industries. Mid-Continent Group provides a broad selection of General Liability, Commercial Auto, Inland Marine and Umbrella products.

Mid-Continent Group is looking for an Associate Underwriter to join their Underwriting team. This individual will work a hybrid schedule from downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Underwrite, price, and negotiate accounts consistent with the quality of the risk and according to the company’s strategies and guidelines
• Review endorsement business submissions and prepare quotes within authority
• Review renewal business submissions and prepare quotes within authority
• Prepare coverage issuance forms for policy processing
• Prepare correspondence, letters, and memos to agents and insureds
• Issue requests for additional information
• Prepare additional information as warranted
• Maintain suspense system for documentation follow-up, renewal solicitation, etc.
• Follow work procedures and practices outlined by supervisor and/or department manager
• Actively manage relationships with assigned agents/brokers and co-workers
• Responsible for special projects and assignments as assigned by supervisor and/or department manager
• Other duties may be assigned

• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while consistently maintaining accuracy and strong attention to detail
• Ability to identify creative solutions for issues that may arise

Job Requirements:

• Candidate must have an Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience
• Generally, 1-4 years of related Commercial Multi-Line, General Liability, and Automobile experience is required
