WHAT YOU’LL DO
This is a fast-paced environment, but the timeliness and quality of results are never compromised while supervising and directing power take-off assembly and identifying process improvements.

- Drive company culture and focus on fact-based management practices
- Supervise and direct all department activity to achieve performance goals, including safety, quality, and on-time delivery

- Responsible for personnel activities, including appropriate staffing and disciplinary actions

- Establish attainable and stretch goals for department employees (performance management)
- Ensure that company standard practices and procedures are followed
- Promote and administer safety awareness on a daily basis
- Maintain a close relationship with employees to promote effective working relationships
- Make implementation and continuous improvement a top priority
- Lead the creation of future state value stream maps and the implementation plan for getting from current state to future state
- Monitor and facilitate all phases of Lean implementation, and ensure ISO and quality standards meet company requirements
- Support project teams in Lean activities by educating, coaching, and mentoring others on process improvement philosophy, tools, and application
- Define, plan, and execute basic Lean improvement activities without external support
- Ensure that company quality policy and procedures are followed
- Actively pursue cost-reduction opportunities
- Expedite paperwork as required
- Ensure accurate counting and processing of incoming and outgoing materials and documents
- Monitor throughput vs. standards and take corrective action as necessary to maximize efficiency
- Conduct periodic employee meetings
- Produce reports as required by the distribution manager
YOUR EXPERIENCES & SKILLS
- Prefer completion of a two-year (2) degree or vocational certificate and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in manufacturing management or a minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing/assembly management experience
- Previous lead or supervisory experience would be a plus
- Capable of creating change across functional and departmental boundaries
- Formally trained in the principles and methodology of Lean enterprise
- A persuasive speaker, to both peers and superiors, have natural charisma
- Must be flexible to perform a variety of assignments and adapt to changing conditions
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Communication will be factual and authoritative focusing on problem solving
- Able to make recommendations and effectively participate in the implementation of company policies and procedures
- Able to solve problems and break down barriers
- Interpret written instructions and specifications, including blueprint reading
- Effectively able to present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Ability to work well with others
