Summary

The Application Engineer II will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and optimization of applications used in midstream operations. Equipment includes modular equipment for dew point plants, mechanical refrigeration units, fractionation trains, cryogenic plants, amine systems, TEG dehydration systems, molecular sieve, and other systems found in the mid-stream market. This ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist in evaluating the design and performance of proposed equipment.
  • Assist in reviewing scope definition and project specifications, preparing system process simulation, developing equipment sizing, and preparing technical proposals.
  • Assist more senior engineers in preparing technical documents.
  • Participate in development of proposal Process Flow Diagrams.
  • Maintain knowledge of codes and standards applicable to the products in the global market.
  • Interface with all operational departments within the company.
  • Maintain customer relationships; participate in client clarification meetings as required.
  • Position may require some domestic and international travel.
  • Duties must be performed consistently with the company mission and values and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Quality: Ensure alignment of Enerflex, customer, and vendor quality control and quality assurance in bids.
  • Abide by and promote Enerflex’s HSE policy.

Qualifications

  • Chemical Engineering degree preferred.
  • 6 months to 2 years of experience in application engineering, preferably in the oil and gas midstream sector.
  • Ability to develop process simulations using HYSYS, ProMax, or similar software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Knowledge of product mechanical design, thermodynamics, chemical processing, and instrumentation & controls.
  • Time management skills including multi-tasking competing priorities as needed.
  • Ability to generate alternative solutions.
  • Being customer-centered and able to maintain satisfied customer and vendor relationships.
  • Desire and ability to resolve technical problems with a desire and ability to continue learning
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and team oriented, capable of learning, managing time, priorities, and operating well under pressure with little supervision.

Physical Requirements

  • Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity.
  • Domestic and international travel is possible on occasion.
  • May be exposed to confidential information.
  • Frequently required to work non-standard hours including evenings and weekends.
