ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST

In this position, you will input and maintain accounts payable system using the internal financial system.

In this role you will…

  • Assemble, review and verify subcontractor invoices and vouchers
  • Prepare and perform check runs
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
  • Maintain accurate historical records
  • Maintain confidentiality of organizational information
  • Develop, implement and maintain systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines
  • Process approved payments accurately and in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal departments
  • Maintain accurate vendor records and review and reconcile vendor statements
  • File, scan, and index into company imaging software
  • Communicate with the project management, office and field staff to get approval of invoices
  • Deliver a high level of customer service to departments and peers by providing accurate and timely information

As the ideal candidate you have…

  • An associate degree in accounting or equivalent work experience required.
  • Good basic math skills.
  • The ability to reconcile billings.
  • Good customer service skills and professional phone skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • The ability to work independently with little supervision.
