Director, Identity Management

We work closely with our partners in both the financial and overpayment units to ensure final benefits, and any potential survivor benefits, are paid accurately to the appropriate party, ensuring that any outstanding overpayment is recovered prior to release of funds. We are, in most cases, the final contact the family of an LTD claimant has with MetLife Disability. This position will require frequent phone conversations with the families of deceased claimants at a time when the families may be very uncertain about next steps, the provisions of the LTD Plan, how much (if any) benefit is due and who is an eligible to receive the money now that the claimant is deceased. Empathetic listening skills are necessary as is excellent customer service. The person who fills this position must be willing to adapt and open to change. Key Responsibilities <ul><li> Provides professional proposal packages to sales by delivering timely, high quality and compliant responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for private and public sector opportunities. </li></ul> <ul><li> Creates concise and accurate case-specific responses for inclusion in proposal packages by accessing question and answer databases, conducting research with product and functional experts, and scripting responses to inquiries. </li></ul> <ul><li> Contributes to the acquisition of new business and renewals by providing proposal packages that support sales strategies and customer needs. </li></ul> <ul><li> Protects MetLife's legal position by ensuring all information in proposal packages accurately reflects current capabilities and complies with legal and regulatory guidelines and requirements. </li></ul> <ul><li> Provides post-proposal support of responses to assist the sales team as necessary. </li></ul> <ul><li> Participates in training programs. </li></ul> <ul><li> Identifies and implements process changes to gain efficiencies and improve workflows. </li></ul> <ul><li> Flexes to support other administrative units or other Proposal Teams during their peak seasons. </li></ul> <ul><li> Performs other related duties as assigned or required. </li></ul> Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills Required: <ul><li> 3-5 years relevant business experience. </li></ul> <ul><li> Ability to manage multiple priorities at once. </li></ul> <ul><li> Communication skills, both written and verbal. </li></ul> <ul><li> Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint. </li></ul> Preferred: <ul> <li>Bachelors Degree</li> <li>Experience in Qvidian. </li> </ul> <ul><li> Previous experience in the employee benefits marketplace and/or knowledge of the proposal process. </li></ul> <ul><li> Familiarity with RFP documents. </li></ul> At MetLife, we’re leading the global transformation of an industry we’ve long defined.
