Full-Spectrum Cardiac Imaging with a current focus on structural heart TEE imaging, including intra-procedural TEE imaging as well as pre-procedure TEE evaluation for structural heart patients. OHI offers all commercially available transcatheter therapies for aortic, mitral, and tricuspid disease (TAVR, M-TEER, TTVR, T-TEER) and is also a leading enroller in multiple structural heart clinical trials evaluating transcatheter therapies for valve disease and heart failure. Therefore, the structural heart imager can expect to be busy in their role and have the opportunity to refine and grow their skillset through interactions with expert imagers and echocardiography core laboratories from major clinical trials. There is also the potential for future leadership roles in structural heart clinical trials that OHI partipates in. Additional roles/functions for this position include participation in the multidisciplinary Valve Clinic and Valve Conference. If the imager has expertise in structural heart CT interpretation, there is an opportunity to read this modality as well. The Principal will play a pivotal role in expanding the Foundation’s MRI strategy and execution.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul> <li>Source new opportunities and investment partners in the biotechnology ecosystem including biotech companies, tech transfer offices, venture capital firms, and accelerators/incubators.</li> <li>Investment due diligence including evaluation of market differentiation, business plans, finances, management, board composition, etc.</li> <li>Support BD activities of portfolio companies by leveraging CFF and personal networks to ensure optimal syndicate composition.</li> <li>Preparing and presenting investment analysis and recommendations to our internal team and for larger investments, the Therapeutics Development Committee of the Board.</li> <li>Lead the negotiation and execution of investment agreements across an array of financial instruments including but not limited to SAFES, convertible notes, and equity.</li> <li>Develop strategic frameworks and sophisticated investment theses based on primary and secondary research on various therapeutic modalities.</li> <li>Post-investment monitoring through regular company updates, reports, and/or board roles.</li> <li>Improving the mission related investment process, including work on investment operations, performance management and risk management.</li> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to inform, develop, and refine long-term financial planning models with a focus on capital allocation.</li> </ul>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:<ul> <li> Profound intellectual curiosity – a deep enthusiasm for: <ul> <li>Life science innovation and the evaluation of novel technologies.</li> <li>Venture capital investing theory, process, and execution.</li> </ul> </li> <li>4 - 6 years of venture capital, search and evaluation, or business development or other relevant experience, including post-doctoral fellowships and advanced degrees in related disciplines.</li> <li>6-10 years of relevant work experience, including graduate degree related research.</li> <li>A deal sheet demonstrating leadership roles in the closing of transactions required (please do not forget to submit when applying).</li> <li>Prior experience leading the sourcing and triage within a therapeutic modality including the development of competitive analyses using market maps.</li> <li>Prior experience creating sophisticated financial models for novel therapeutic platforms and product candidates; experience with long term strategic planning or capital allocation models is a plus.</li> <li>Working knowledge of core concepts in therapeutic development; experience in gene therapy and/or infectious disease is a plus.</li> <li>Preference for candidates with graduate degree (MS, PhD, or MD) in molecular biology or a related field and business education/training (MBA, consulting, buy-side business development, investment banking, or venture capital).</li> <li>Exceptional work ethic with a commitment to developing a wide range of skills and responsibilities.</li> <li>Ability to synthesize information from various sources and critically evaluate alternative approaches.</li> <li>Ability to prepare well-written, well-organized material and present recommendations in a clear and concise manner.</li> <li>High emotional intelligence with a strong ability to interface with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.</li> <li>Ability to collaborate and be creative with a professional and positive approach.</li> <li>Ability to take courageous, decisive action and make timely and independent decisions that are in the best interests of the Foundation.</li> </ul>REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: <ul><li>Reports to Managing Director, Mission Venture.
