EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduated from an accredited college with a Masters Degree in Nursing. Possession of valid Oklahoma licensure as a Registered Nurse and certification as a Nurse Practitioner from an accredited organization such as American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or the American Nurses Credentialing Center. An expectation of core competencies in relation to individuals with co-occurring disorders. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Have a broad knowledge of psychopharmacology. Be able to perform psychiatric evaluations and mental health status examinations. Be able to assess patients physical conditions and make appropriate referrals for medical treatment. Have a working knowledge of disorders as outlined in DSM-IV (and subsequent additions/revisions) and the diagnosing and treating of such. Have a general knowledge of the community mental health system and awareness of local referral sources.

This is a 12-month Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, non-tenure track 0.5 FTE position. Academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The academic role is within the School of Nursing in the Oxley College of Health and Natural Sciences. This individual will report directly to the Director of the Nurse Anesthesia Program with indirect reporting to the Executive Director of the School of Nursing and the Dean of the Oxley College of Health and Natural Sciences. Key Responsibilities: The Nurse Anesthesia DNP Program Part Time (0.5 FTE) faculty division of responsibilities: 70% to teaching, counseling, and evaluating students, including advising on doctoral-level scholarly activities; 20% to clinical competency; 5% to faculty scholarly activities; and 5% to service.
