The director must accurately forecast business and market needs, formulate and implement the sales strategy, achieve sales targets and ensure high customer satisfaction. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Sales and Service, with direct management of the global sales and business development team ensuring alignment of sales efforts across global markets.In this role you will: • Work with the commercial team and XOS management to develop and implement strategic global sales plans based on data that support growth objectives and team development. • Analyze current customers and segments to prioritize which customers have the greatest potential for deeper penetration and increased flow of orders. • Provide strategic support to the product management team to develop business plans for the penetration of attractive new markets (geographic and segments) and new product development and set priorities for maximum return on investment. • Establish a plan to attack strategic adjacent and core markets through targeted campaigns and pursuit plans. • Develop, maintain and report monthly sales to determine performance levels and areas for improvement with clear metric tracking • Evaluate the sales team, ensuring each person has respective tactical sales plan and the capability to execute through accountability, engaging cross functional support and stretching their commercial skillsets to close sales opportunities • Hire, develop and motivate sales personnel to achieve a high performance and cross functional collaboration • Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results. Establish standard work and best practices to enhance sales operations, pursuit tracking and management of SFDC tools. • Identify margin improvement opportunities and implement plans to achieve. Seek price increases where feasible. • Evaluate and drive existing and new global channel partner network and key customer accounts that align to strategic initiatives QUALIFICATIONS:Critical Success Factors: • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to drive actions in a matrix organization to motivate, lead, and develop dynamic teams • Ability to think strategically and develop clear and concise plans for growth with adaptive agility • Excellent independent and team time management and organization skills with ability to balance short terms wins with long term growth strategies • Ability to lead a geographically diverse team and gain followership • Ability to communicate the product or initiative value proposition effectively, both internally and externally, and manage complex negotiations with global clients. Required Skills/Experience: • Minimum of 5 years sales experience in technical sales management roles • Experience developing sales strategy and driving sales execution of a highly technical product • Demonstrated ability to lead a team through priority setting and effective sales operations strategies • In depth experience in sales management, pipeline development and revenue generation in industrial, scientific or technical markets • Proven track record of success growing a product line and penetrating parallel markets • Ability to interact, communicate, and influence all levels of the business internally and externally in the market to build productive relationships and continuously improve on process efficienciesDesired Skills/Experience: • Experience in the Petroleum industry is preferred • Spectroscopy experience and knowledge of X Ray Fluorescence (XRF) technology is preferred • Strategic account sales experience • Capital equipment sales experience • Salesforce.com experienceEducation • Bachelor’s degree (engineering or technical degree preferred)Travel Requirements • 50%Key Internal Relationships: • Sales • Service • Product Management • MarketingThis is a fully remote position. Several locations have been listed for marketing purposes but only one position is available.The annual range for this role is $150,000 to $180,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. The compensation range for this role is $150000 - $180000 USD per year.
