Drive, determination, responsibility, and a positive response to challenges and time pressure are essential to ensure company policies and procedures are correctly followed and are necessary for successful job performance. <ul type="disc"> <li>Drive company culture and focus on fact-based management practices</li> <li>Supervise and direct all department activity to achieve performance goals, including safety, quality, and on-time delivery </li> <li>Responsible for employees understanding their role within the company and how it relates to the company's mission</li> <li>Responsible for personnel activities, including appropriate staffing and disciplinary actions</li> <li>Focus on building teamwork within your primary department and with other departments</li> <li>Establish attainable and stretch goals for department employees (performance management)</li> <li>Ensure that company standard practices and procedures are followed</li> <li>Promote and administer safety awareness on a daily basis </li> <li>Maintain a close relationship with employees to promote effective working relationships</li> <li>Make implementation and continuous improvement a top priority</li> <li>Lead the creation of future state value stream maps and the implementation plan for getting from current state to future state</li> <li>Monitor and facilitate all phases of Lean implementation, and ensure ISO and quality standards meet company requirements</li> <li>Support project teams in Lean activities by educating, coaching, and mentoring others on process improvement philosophy, tools, and application</li> <li>Define, plan, and execute basic Lean improvement activities without external support</li> <li>Ensure that company quality policy and procedures are followed</li> <li>Actively pursue cost-reduction opportunities</li> <li>Expedite paperwork as required</li> <li>Ensure accurate counting and processing of incoming and outgoing materials and documents</li> <li>Monitor throughput vs. standards and take corrective action as necessary to maximize efficiency</li> <li>Conduct periodic employee meetings</li> <li>Produce reports as required by the distribution manager</li> </ul> YOUR EXPERIENCES &amp; SKILLS <ul> <li>Prefer completion of a two-year (2) degree or vocational certificate and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in manufacturing management or a minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing/assembly management experience</li> <li>Previous lead or supervisory experience would be a plus </li> <li>Capable of creating change across functional and departmental boundaries</li> <li>Formally trained in the principles and methodology of Lean enterprise</li> <li>A persuasive speaker, to both peers and superiors, have natural charisma</li> <li>Must be flexible to perform a variety of assignments and adapt to changing conditions</li> <li>Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed</li> <li>Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
