This role combines responsibilities from fraud and dispute investigations with compliance advisory duties to mitigate risks and adhere to regulatory standards within a fast-paced fintech environment. In this role, you will apply a data-driven approach to assess and improve business processes, compliance controls ,make sound fraud decisions, and risk management strategies across deposits, payments, and lending. This is a remote, contract position that offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The US base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. <h3>What You'll Do</h3> <ul> <li>Fraud and Disputes Responsibilities:</li> <ul> <li>Conduct routine to complex fraud investigations, applying professional judgment to analyze and resolve cases efficiently.</li> <li>Investigate and process Regulation Z/E claims (ACH/Card Disputes).</li> <li>Execute Visa chargeback processes effectively.</li> <li>Conduct informational and admission-seeking interviews with stakeholders including victims, witnesses, or suspects.</li> <li>Monitor and analyze financial transactions to proactively identify and mitigate fraud risks.</li> <li>Balance customer experience with risk management practices.</li> </ul> <li>Compliance Advisory Responsibilities:</li> <ul> <li>Collaborate with product and marketing teams ensuring adherence to consumer protection regulations across deposits, payments, and lending products.</li> <li>Conduct research and document regulatory changes impacting current and new products.</li> <li>Support maintenance and improvement of compliance policies, procedures, and controls through routine reviews.</li> <li>Participate in compliance risk assessments and support ongoing monitoring and testing activities.</li> <li>Assist in creating and delivering tailored compliance training materials to various internal teams.</li> <li>Assist with maintaining compliance tools by regularly updating and refining system rules and logic, including the addition, modification, and testing of new compliance requirements to ensure ongoing accuracy and effectiveness.</li> <li>Provide guidance and clear documentation to stakeholders regarding regulatory compliance expectations and frameworks.</li> </ul> </ul> What We're Looking For: <ul> <li>3+ years of experience in fraud investigations, dispute resolution, compliance, or risk management within fintech, banking, or financial services.</li> <li>Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.</li> <li>Proven expertise in processing chargeback claims and understanding regulatory frameworks such as Regulation Z, Regulation E, Gram-Leach-Bliley Act, and other financial compliance laws.</li> <li>Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to multitask and adapt in a rapidly changing environment.</li> <li>Proficiency in Excel/Sheets (including foundational analytical tools), PowerPoint/Slides, and basic understanding of financial compliance controls.</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and the ability to manage sensitive information confidentially.</li> <li>Creative problem-solving abilities with a customer-first mindset.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to perform security and risk assessments.</li> <li>Preferred experience in fintech or similarly fast-paced financial environments.</li> </ul> #LI-Remote At EarnIn, we believe that the best way to build a financial system that works for everyday people is by hiring a team that represents our diverse community.
