Application areas include real time image generation; visual environment and model creation tools; display system design, measurement, and alignment; computer systems and information security. Entry level. Applies fundamental principles and concepts of engineering to the position. Performs routine aspects and progresses to more varied and complex activities with development of additional knowledge and experience in the subject matter. Works directly with senior Teammates. Work is closely observed and reviewed.</p>    <h2>Tasks and Responsibilities</h2>   <ul> <li>Responsible for the administration and maintenance of various operating systems across multiple platforms. To include sensitive military systems and networks.</li> <li>Responsible for setting up and maintaining the software file structure for each project. </li> <li>Responsible for configuration management of the simulator software including setting up and maintaining the source control systems and performing software builds, packaging, and installation. </li> <li>Supports the installation and implementation of device drivers for interfacing with hardware.</li> <li>Responsible for supporting mathematical support library, systems utilities and debug packages under the direction of a more senior engineer.</li> <li>Evaluates hardware and software to be installed on production and development computer systems under direction of a more senior engineer.</li> <li>Perform cybsersecurtiy hardening measures and apply risk mitigation.</li> <li>Analyzes and reports patching status of OS and Applications and work directly with applicable teams for remediation.</li> <li>Maintain consistency and quality of simulation software packages and its implementation on production and development computer systems.</li> <li>Support software developers and applications engineers in the programming and debugging of simulation software.</li> <li>Assist with documenting Policies and Procedures to be used by training center technicians and simulation software developers.</li> <li>Assist with documentation related to in-house and on-site software/hardware training classes which train employees and site technicians in up-to-date simulation environment, procedures, maintenance and trouble shooting.</li> <li>Works with fellow software engineers, hardware engineers and management to affect a smoothly integrated system.</li> <li>Reviews and utilizes the OS and simulation software logs to support and inform co-workers.</li> <li>Travel, shift work, and special work hours may be required to accomplish some of the above tasks.</li> <li>Exhibit and practice professional and courteous behavior while interacting with both internal and external customers.</li> <li>Interact within a cooperative environment through beneficial behavior, commitment to common goals, contribution to problem solving, communication of ideas and suggestions, and encouragement to other employees and departments.</li> <li>Accountable for the control and distribution of documents and/or equipment subject to export control restrictions and the security of FSI materials, projects and business information regarding the methods and techniques used in the production and usage of FSI products.</li> <li>Accountable for the accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks.</li> <li>Able to adhere to a work schedule including prompt and regular attendance.</li> <li>Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.<br> </li> </ul>     <h2>Minimum Education</h2>  <ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other applicable technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li></ul>    <h2>Minimum Experience</h2>   <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other applicable technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li> <li>Must be able to obtain/maintain Secret DOD clearance within one year of hire.
