By offering a modern API interface for running eligibility checks, processing claims, and ingesting ERAs, healthcare technology businesses can exchange transactions with payers without dealing with the EDI protocol or carrier-specific connectivity.As we continue to scale, we are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join our Platform Team. This team is at the core of our infrastructure, responsible for managing multiple AWS Organizations and providing the foundational tools and services that enable our engineering teams to build reliable, secure, and compliant applications.The Platform Team’s responsibilities span a wide range of areas, including:<ul> <li>The infrastructure AWS our engineering teams rely on.</li> <li>Authentication services for our customers.</li> <li>Management of our GitHub organization and IT operations.</li> <li>Supporting compliance efforts to ensure alignment with industry standards (SOC, HIPAA, HiTrust).</li> </ul>As a Platform Engineer, you will play an active role in managing, improving, and automating processes across these areas. Your contributions will help ensure the seamless operation of our platform while enabling teams across the organization to innovate and deliver at scale.<h2>How we build</h2><ul> <li>We use AWS exclusively for our customer-facing backend infrastructure. We use tools like GitHub, Stripe, and PagerDuty, but all of our application work happens on AWS. </li> <li>We use serverless technologies almost exclusively: Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, Aurora Serverless, and more. We don’t run a single server.</li> <li>We use CDK (TypeScript) to define infrastructure as code.</li> <li>We have a strong preference for using AWS products over 3rd party solutions. This simplifies vendor management, compliance and ensures we can benefit from the integration capabilities and innovations that AWS provides us with now, and in the future.</li> </ul><h2>What you'll do</h2><ul> <li>Maintain, operate, and extend our foundational authentication and user management services to ensure scalability, reliability, and secure integration across the platform.</li> <li>Oversee high-priority dependency upgrades by managing <a href="https://docs.renovatebot.com/" target="_blank">Renovate</a> and GitHub Dependabot to ensure platform stability, and to stay current with the latest libraries and frameworks.</li> <li>Help maintain and improve our unique multi-tenant AWS organization using Service Catalog, CloudFormation, and CDK, enforcing security controls, and ensuring strong tenant isolation.</li> <li>Use tools like Opal and Okta to streamline and manage staff IT operations, including provisioning access, identity lifecycle management, permissions management, and more</li> <li> Collaborate with product teams to integrate and improve our customer facing authentication services built using Lamda, DynamoDB and Amazon Verified Permissions. </li> </ul><h2>Who you are </h2><ul> <li>4+ years of engineering experience. Experience in regulated industries (e.g. healthcare, finance) is a plus.</li> <li>3+ years working with AWS services.</li> <li>Proficiency in TypeScript. Rust experience is a plus (but not required).</li> <li>Committed to working with AWS serverless offerings in a production environment utilizing infrastructure as code.</li> <li>Familiarity setting up compliance and governance services like AWS Organizations, AWS CloudTrail, AWS Config, Security Hub, and GuardDuty.</li> <li>Ability to prioritize your work based on the needs of the business and the customers.</li> <li>High bandwidth; ability to pay thoughtful attention to many areas simultaneously.</li> <li>Ability to context switch throughout the course of the day or week as priorities shift</li> <li>Philosophical alignment with the <a href="https://www.stedi.com/careers" target="_blank">Stedi Standards</a> and the <a href="https://www.stedi.com/blog/the-unwritten-laws-of-engineering-at-stedi" target="_blank">Unwritten laws of engineering</a>. </li> </ul>At Stedi, we're looking for people who are deeply curious and aligned to our ways of working.
