Summary: The Staff Accountant is a detail‐oriented and analytical professional with a solid foundation in accounting principles, exceptional organizational skills, and a keen eye for accuracy. The Staff Accountant has a crucial role in maintaining the general ledger, preparing journal entries, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The Staff Accountant will primarily work with accounts ranging from simple to moderately complex.<h3>Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:</h3> <ul> <li>General Ledger Maintenance:</li> <li>Maintain accurate and up‐to‐date financial records using accounting software.</li> <li>Record day‐to‐day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness.</li> <li>Monitor and maintain proper documentation for all general ledger entries to ensure audit readiness.</li> <li>Financial Reporting and Analysis:</li> <li>Record general ledger entries and prepare account reconciliations as part of the period end close process.</li> <li>Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.</li> <li>Reconciliation:</li> <li>Perform reconciliations, including cash, accounts receivable, prepaids and fixed assets, to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial transactions as part of the financial close.</li> <li>Prepare and maintain schedules for various balance sheet and income statement accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.</li> <li>Compliance and Audit Management:</li> <li>Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.</li> <li>Assist in the preparation of documentation for audits and provide necessary support during audit processes.</li> <li>Assist in the preparation of documentation for audits and provide necessary support during audit processes.</li> <li>Assist in monthly, quarterly and ad‐hoc financial compliance reporting for external constituents including lenders, investors and regulatory/licensing entities.</li> <li>Process Improvement:</li> <li>Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements within the accounting function.</li> <li>Implement and maintain effective internal controls.</li> </ul><h3>Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: </h3> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required.</li> <li>Up to 2 years of relevant experience in accounting.</li> <li>Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.</li> <li>Intermediate to advanced skill level using Microsoft Excel.</li> <li>Excellent critical thinking and problem‐solving skills, and superior attention to detail.</li> <li>Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li>Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.</li> <li>Experience with account reconciliation and financial statement preparation.</li> <li>Professional demeanor and presentation when interacting with both internal and external customers.</li> <li>Ability to coordinate work with a geographically dispersed team – Zoom/ Slack/ Email connectivity &amp; presence balanced with the ability to get things done.</li> </ul> Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 per year Additional Information Regarding Job Duties and Job Descriptions: Job duties include additional responsibilities as assigned by one's supervisor or other managers related to the position/department.
