Position Information Position Title Service Learning Coordinator, Academic Programs Job Description The Service-Learning Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing service-learning opportunities related to the university’s Honors College. This position supports the university’s mission, with emphasis on preparing individuals to make meaningful contributions to our campus, community, and world.The coordinator will play a crucial role in promoting student engagement, fostering community partnerships, and will work closely with the university academic and co-curricular units.Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop service-learning opportunities that align with Honors College mission, vision, and academic requirements.
- Support student development by helping them connect academic learning to community service experiences and the Honors College values of wisdom, virtue, and friendship.
- Assist students in finding service-learning opportunities and tracking their community impact through the university’s EngageTU platform.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with community-based partners and nonprofit organizations.
- Collaborate with partner organizations to identify their needs and ensure service-learning projects are mutually beneficial.
- Collaborate with academic units to ensure service-learning opportunities align with graduation or program requirements.
- Contribute to Office of Civic Engagement presentations to students, staff, and faculty.
- Ensure that service-learning initiatives adhere to university policies and best practices in the field.
