Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provide clerical support to Claims department:
- Review data and text associated with claims files.
- Scan and index documents.
- May assist with and/or create general correspondence.
- May perform mail/file functions. Utilize the company system(s) to identify the appropriate recipient of correspondence within or outside the company. Sort and distribute mail. Maintain/purge documents according to record retention guidelines and distribute files/file systems.
- May assist Claims department:
- Set up claims files.
- File correspondence and other material related to the claims records, as directed.
- Obtain coverage information from policies.
- Investigate discrepancies in the information gathered.
- Enter information into system(s).
- Order reports.
- Update claims files and maintains, corrects, and/or updates data using office technology.
- Prepare and maintain records, registers, and schedules.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Generally, 6 months to 2 years of related experience.
